Hustle and Flow got some play!

Hustle and Flow got an award tonight for most Original Music in a Motion Picture. Queen Latifa presented the award for the song "It's Hard Out Hear For A Pimp". I am so hyped about this movie getting some attention. The entire sound track is a beautiful collaboration including artist Juvenile, Mike Jones, Webbie, Djay and E-40. It also includes some great skits, this Seattle Hip Hop DJ's favorite being the one at the begining of the song, "Whoop That Trick". You go Terrence Howard!

The song "It's Hard Out Hear For A Pimp" was performed by 3 Six Mafia. There were stage props and at least a dozen dancers on stage, it was a great performance. Lady Jane DJ says, this award was well deserved.

The American Music Awards!?!

The American Music Awards should have been called The Country Music Awards! When I sat down today to watch The American Music Awards I expected to watch The Music Awards of America not of Country Music. Don't get me wrong, I'm from Texas and I like George Straight. I love Tim McGraw, he's gorgeous and He deserved his two awards. But most of the winners and performers of the awards sounded like country music artists to me. Maybe because they were mostly country music artist recieving awards! I actually had a friend turn me on to some county last summer and that was cool but American Music consists of more than just country music.

However, 50-Cent did win an award for "The Massacre", Destiny's Child won two awards, Will Smith won an award, Missy Elliott won Best Female Rap Artist. But 50-Cent wasn't there to accept the award and only Kelly of Destiny's Child showed to accept the two awards they won. Missy Elliott and Will Smith were the only Hip Hop artists that showed that won an award and didn't perform.

Lil' Bow Wow and Ciara performed "Like You" together, that was the bomb. Mario performed with old skool gangster dressed dancers, that was the shiznit. Pharrell and Gwen Stephanie performed "You Got It Like That" and Gwen won an award as well, but I couldn't hear which one.

Maybe I'm just used to more of a hip-hop over tone. I don't think that I heard much bass thoughtout the show either. I like bass and I think that too many people are scared of it. FYI, bass is your friend. I think I heard more bass in the car commercials and in the commercial breaks in general. I heard some cool raps on the car commercials too. The American Music Awards was promoted with Hip Hop but most of the winners of the American Music awards were Counrty Music Artists. Again this is not a dis on counrty music. However, when I am presented with advertisements about the American Music Awards with Hip Hop Music in the advertisments, I expected more of a Hip Hop show not a country music show. Maybe if there were more county music in those advertisments I wouldn't feel so cheated.

Anyway Santana was featured in the show as well. Santana is and has some of the best guitarist performers in his crew. Santana is Bad Ass!

New Comedy Show with Chris Rock!

Chris Rock is the man when it comes to comedy. His new TV show "Everybody Hates Chris", which is featured at 8:00 p.m. on UPN 11, is goodie goodie for the whole family. This 30 minute show features the realest in family problems, like; parents financial situations, bullys at school, being the oldest and getting blamed for everything even your siblings issues. Chris's dad is so funny! So is Chris with his girl problems. My favorite character other than Chris is Chris's mom. She is really in control of her Man and she does it with attitude! "Everybody Hates Chris" is so funny, Lady Jane DJ loves it!
