Lady Jane DJ is a woman hip hop DJ that focuses on current urban hip hop music. On this site we will be posting stories about; my gigs, writing about my feelings, thoughts, and issues on my favorite artist of the week, stories about other shows that I attend and many other interesting things to read.
I am one of the few of women Hip Hop DJ’s in the NW. I first became interested in spinning vinyl in 2000, after listening to local Seattle break beat DJ’s like; DJ Kippy, Little Miss Booty and DJ NAHA . When I first began to experiment with vinyl I tried Break Beats and House Music and shortly after became the resident DJ for the Wild Rose in Seattle’s Capital Hill. My once a month dance party, Butterfly Kisses, became one of the freshest dance floors for Capital Hill’s dancers.
I've done various quest spots at other Seattle venues such as The Baltic Room for “Make Out”, Neighbors for “Girls Gone Wild”, The Catwalk for “Girl 4 Girl” as well as The Premier, Noise Lab and Club Medusa. I've also traveled to British Columbia to spin at the Lick Club and other events such as “Essence 2002” a New Years Eve warehouse party.
I soon found that with Hip Hop music is where I wanted to be and began a weekly celebration called, No Panties Tuesdays! Most recently, I am very happy to say that I rocked the dance floor of The War Room and seduced the Hawaiian radio Hip Hop station 98.3 "The Bomb" on my trip to Maui!
Currently Lady Jane DJ and the G-Force are in preperation for performance at the Seattle Pride Sound Stage, coming up this June.
