LJDJ's Favorite Artist of the Week

Mike Jones is this Seattle Hip Hop DJ's favorite artist of the week! Who? Mike Jones! Who? Mike Jones! I was so surprized to hear that his sexiness is still on an independent labal. You go Mike! LJDJ saw Mr. Jones at Summer Jam 2005 this past summer and he is a good performer. I remember, just getting up front of the stage when Mike Jones and his boys performed their first song. My favorites of his tracks is "Still Tippin". Lady Jane DJ can't wait to see Mike Jones again in concert.

New Comedy Show with Chris Rock!

Chris Rock is the man when it comes to comedy. His new TV show "Everybody Hates Chris", which is featured at 8:00 p.m. on UPN 11, is goodie goodie for the whole family. This 30 minute show features the realest in family problems, like; parents financial situations, bullys at school, being the oldest and getting blamed for everything even your siblings issues. Chris's dad is so funny! So is Chris with his girl problems. My favorite character other than Chris is Chris's mom. She is really in control of her Man and she does it with attitude! "Everybody Hates Chris" is so funny, Lady Jane DJ loves it!

LATE REGISTRATION Kanye West

Late Registration by Kanye West was released in August 2005 on the Roc-A-Fella label. What I found really interesting about the intro to this album was the realism. The first song was very calming, not what I expected. The second song, "Touch The Sky" sounded just as grand as Jay-Z's tracks. Gold Digga is a hit. The other skits through out late registration feature funny skits of Millitary marching chants through out the album. The next song literally made me want to "Drive Slow". I actually slowed down during this song.

Roses was a reality check, I love this song. Addiction was a blast from the past for me. The song that I like the most is "Diamonds" featuring Jay-Z. However, Kanye's album is a great collaboration all throughout. "Hey Mama" lyrics are some of the best in Lady Jane DJ's opinion.

LJDJ's Favorite Artist of the Week

Lady Jane DJ has been a fan of Destinys Child ever since she first heard "No,No,No". But these ladies really got my attention when I heard my sister singing "Bills Bills Bills". Then when I heard "Bug-A-Boo" I was like, Yeah! Totally feeling Destiny's Child.

I first saw Destinys Child perform in my home town San Antonio, Texas at Six Flags Fiesta Texas Theme Park. At that time Destinys Child was a group of four.

My first Destinys Child record was "Independant Woman". Shorty after I got "Jumpin Jumpin" and I love the part where they sing "bounce baby, bounce a bounce". Ofcourse now I have more, like, "Baby Boy" and "Crazy In Love" hit me hard.

My latest vinyl purchases of Destinys Child's tracks were "Soldier" and "Lose My Breath". Lose My Breath being my favorite now.

Now this Seattle Hip Hop DJ can't wait to see Destiny's Child at the Key Arena. I'm so excited, can't wait and I'll be in the crowd yelling, dancing and singing like the crazed fan that I am.

Bumpershoot Hip Hop 101

Lady Jane DJ went to Bumpershoot early this morning and attended the Hip Hop 101 show with Pharcyde, Twalib and Common. I had been waiting to see these groups for some time and to see them all in one afternoon was bomb. All three performances were well worth the wait.

Pharcyde I felt the most intimate with because I was so close up to the stage during their show. Fat Lip, Imani, Big Session(drummer), DJ J-sun, and the guy with the Korg all delivered a cool show. Now when I think Kool Kats I think Pharcyde!

I hadn't see Twalib since their show with the Beastie Boys last year. I love their two new additions to their show. They brought with them two beautiful divas who brought soft sex appeal to the show. Twalib's performance had a new vibe to it this time around. Don't get me wrong, not that Twalib aren't sexy on their own. These Gentlemen are definetly smooth looking fellas.

Commom came out to great the crowd with so much energy. They look good on stage and had the audience hype hardcore. Twalib joined Common for a few tracks and both made a great team.

To my surprise and everyone elses, Common later showed off his b-boy skills.

This Seattle Hip Hop DJ enjoyed Bumpershot Hip Hop 101. The weather was perfect through out the show and as soon as the show was over, it poured. Lady Jane DJ and thousands of other people were very much blessed!
